Within the framework of programs of excellence supported by the French government, the Heudiasyc lab offers a tenure-track position leading to CNRS Research Director in "Autonomous Vehicles and transportation".

This position aims to enhance the research activities of the CNRS and the Heudiasyc laboratory in the fields of robotics, automation, and AI for autonomous systems interacting with humans. Potential research directions include the development of novel control approaches for autonomous vehicles, learning driving situations for adapting to driver preferences and constraints, enhancing human driving capabilities in complex environments to improve safety and facilitate driving. Addressing issues such as the perception and understanding of situations in open and dynamic environments, managing uncertainties, and ensuring the integrity of navigation information, are also major challenges that are relevant for this position.

The successful candidate is expected to lead research projects at both national and international levels and to mentor and supervise young researchers.

A PhD thesis with at least five years' research experience is required.
