Chères et chers collègues / Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite submissions to the Special Session on Hybrid Intelligence: Integrating Physics-Based Principles with Data-Driven AI (HybAI 2026).

This session will take place within the 23rd International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO), which will be held locally in Angers, France, from October 26-28, 2026.

Relevance to the GDR MACS Community: This session sits exactly at the intersection of classical system modeling/control and modern artificial intelligence. While purely data-driven models often lack stability guarantees and require massive datasets, purely mathematical "white-box" models can struggle to scale with complex, unmodeled dynamics.

We are focusing on gray-box modeling and hybrid architectures. We highly encourage submissions from the French control and automation community tackling system identification, physically-constrained learning, Lyapunov stability in neural controllers, and high-fidelity digital twins.

TOPICS OF INTEREST:

  • System Modeling and Control: System identification and parameter estimation using hybrid models; design and analysis of controllers combining first-principles and data-driven components.
  • Hybrid and Gray-Box Modeling: Integration of physics-based principles, constraints, and domain knowledge with neural networks (e.g., Physics-Informed Neural Networks).
  • Digital Twins & Industrial Applications: Predictive maintenance, process optimization, and high-fidelity virtual representations.
  • Safety-Critical AI: Robust control, human-in-the-loop systems, and verifiable behavior for domains where AI failures are unacceptable.
  • Evaluation & Stability: Methods for interpretability, uncertainty quantification, and stability analysis in hybrid models.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Paper Submission: July 31, 2026
  • Authors Notification: September 9, 2026
  • Camera Ready: September 18, 2026

SUBMISSION & DETAILS: Session Website: https://icinco.scitevents.org/HybAI.aspx (Please submit through the special session page).

Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings (ISBN, DOI via CrossRef) and submitted for indexation by SCOPUS, DBLP, EI, and Web of Science.

We look forward to welcoming you to Angers!

Sincerely,
